Sparse, thin brows? How are they gonna know? Follow these easy steps to fill in eyebrows with pencil.
When I first started learning how to fill in my eyebrows with a pencil, they typically resulted in smudged pencil with an undefined shape.
Over time I realized it takes more than just an eyebrow pencil to get them looking full, clean and natural.
How to Fill in Eyebrows For Beginners
1. Brush Brows
Using a spoolie brush the brow hairs in an upward motion. The goal is to separate the hairs to expose the areas that will need to be filled in with a pencil.
2. Map Brows
Using the Anastasia Brow Freeze Applicator, I mapped out the 3 main points of my eyebrow. (Front, arch, and tail.)
To map the front of the brow, line the applicator from the nostril straight up to the brow.
To map the arch, line the applicator from the nostril straight through the center of the eye.
To map the tail, line the applicator from the nostril to the corner of the eye.
Lightly mark each point with your eyebrow pencil.

3. Apply Brow Gel
Using Benefit Cosmetics 24HR Brow Setter apply gel to the brow.
Use the bristles to brush through the brows once again. Then turn the applicator on the flat side to press the brow hairs into the skin.
If you feel like your brows have a shine to them you can set them using a translucent powder before you fill in eyebrows with pencil.
4. Outline & Fill
To fill in eyebrows with pencil, start by outline the bottom of the down, then the top.
Start to fill in the tail and gradually lighten up your strokes as you get to the front of the brow.
5. Clean Edges
Once you fill eyebrows with pencil, use a concealer to clean up the edges.
If you make any mistakes or over-lined the brows, this is where you can correct your mistakes.
To blend the concealer flawlessly into the skin, take a small about of foundation on a brush to defuse the harsh edges of the concealer.
6. Perfect Shape
Once the you’ve complete filled eyebrows with pencil, you can go back in to perfect the brow.
Fill in spots you may have missed, darken the line underneath the brow, or lighten the front of the brow with more concealer.
