Since the start of my natural hair journey I would always use the traditional heavy blow dryer with the nosel that always falls off. One day as I got ready to dry my hair the blow dryer did not turn on and I had to work the next morning. It was a nightmare.
In a panic I rushed to my nearest Target browsing for a blow drying until my eyes landed on the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer. I was a little scepital because I had never tried a tool like but remember some influencers raving about. So I decided to give it a try. Any thing was better then what I was currently working with.
To my surprise, it turned out to be the quickest blow dry I had ever done, and I’ve never looked back! The Relvon One-Step is one product that I recommend to anyone with coarse hair who knows the struggle of wash day.

Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer Review
Revlon claims the One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer is “designed to deliver gorgeous volume and brilliant shine in a one step. The unique oval brush design quickly creates smooth volume at the root and beautifully full-bodied curls at the ends.” The brand also claims 30% less frizz and helps to reduce hair damage.
I have noticed a difference in frizz and dry time. The blow dryer gives straight enough results to where I can throw my hair in a quick ponytail or claw clip if I don’t have time to complete styling.
I love how light weight and fluffy my hair feels, some traditional blow dryers can fry our hair leaving it just as stiff as when we started. The bristles allow me to get close enough to my scalp which is very important to me. The new growth is always the thickest, this blow dryer brushes through thick growth with easy.

My favorite thing about this blow dryer is not having to worry about straining your arms. The thought of that alone makes me happy. Typically you’d have your brush in one hand and the blow drying in the other struggling to stretch that hair. With the Revlon blow dryer all you need to focus on is getting easy pass through each section.
How I Use Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer
I always start with freshly washed hair. Then, I part my hair into 10-12 sections using hair clips. Yes, 10-12. Because my hair is so coarse especially as it starts to dry it helps to make such each section of my hair is fully dry. Especially the roots which can cause your hair ro revert!
Using a generous amount of detangling stray I comb through each section, twist it can apply the clip again. This just helps to keep the hair soft as I continue this step around my entire head.
Finally, I turn my Revlon One-Step to the highest setting and comb through each section.
Pros:
- Affordable price range
- Quick dry time
- Easy on the arms
- Combs through thick roots
Cons:
- The printed settings rub off after a while
- Difficult to clean in between the bristles
